| | To honour the first of these pledges the government won't need to change the Admissions Code. That's what it does - ensure all schools have inclusive admissions policies. But to honour the second it may need to change the Code, giving the powers to force faith schools to admit children of all faiths and none. What's ambiguous is what "these" refers to in the second sentence. Does it mean just those faith schools that are set up from now on, or will any changes to the Code be retroactive? I suspect it's the former, particularly as both David Cameron and Nick Clegg's children are at faith schools and they won't want to upset the heads and governors of those schools by forcing them to change their admissions policies. But we'll find out for sure on Tuesday.Free schools continue to be one of this Government's success stories. A further 93 ?are due to open this month, bringing the total to 174. That's an additional 46,000 places at what are likely to be fantastic schools. . To date, only 64 per cent of state schools that have been inspected under Ofsted's tougher new inspection framework have been ranked good or outstanding. | | | | Scarpe Vans (Hôte)

| | The president's budget also proposes spending $550 million on ARPA-E, the Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy, which provides seed money to cutting-edge technologies in the hope of spurring private investment and, ultimately, groundbreaking innovation. The program was funded with $400 million in Recovery Act money in 2009, but has been running on empty since then. |
