I'm committed to a conservative agenda, but I'm realistic about the need to compromise if the bulk of that agenda is to be realised. That's the political reality that Ukippers refuse to acknowledge. They have the high-principled purity of a party with no experience of government - like the Lib Dems before their reality bath.
