Denton Guyer coach Russ Phillips, who was not at the school last year and not involved with the vote, said the biggest drawback is the lack of a practice meet before regionals. Previously, teams would send their regional qualifiers to a practice meet to prepare, but with every other district involved in area meets this week, Guyer will have to settle for a typical workout.
