In the Bach, music director Jaap van Zweden had the strings playing with stylishly minimal vibrato and a nice lilt to the rhythms. Very brisk tempos in the outer movements would have worked for the harpsichord-concerto version of this piece, but they felt rushed for a wind instrument.
