Pictures by Colin PooleRobson is less flashy than many jazz guitarists, but the pay-off was that every note counted, and Stan Sulzmanns stylishly understated solos reminded one why he is so revered by younger players. Compositionally the set was strong too. I particularly liked the ingeniously shaped bass of Telepathy and Transmission, which kept trying to rise but couldnt quite.
