It's the membership list that catches the eye, in particular the folk name-checked earlier in his speech by Mr Brown as exemplars of cutting-edge thinking on efficiency: Sir Peter Gershon, who tried to reform Whitehall for Mr Brown with mixed results, has agreed to help, as has Dr Martin Read, former boss of Logica, who is praised by Mr Brown in the foreword to his document, and Bernard Gray, best known as an influential adviser at the MoD who played a key role in reforming procurement under John Hutton (he resigned this morning to join the Tory comittee). There's also Lord Levene, the chairman of Lloyd's, Colin Barrow, leader of Westminster council, and Lucy Neville-Rolfe of Tesco.
