Puma has released details of how much the company's impact on the environment is costing.Using a methodology developed by PwC and Truscot, the brand evaluated the impact of greenhouse gas emissions and water usage across its supply chain, as well as its own operations.According to the analysis, the cost of water usage stands at ?47.4 million (??41.3 million), and greenhouse gas emissions racked up ?47 million.This places the total cost of Puma's environmental impact for 2010 at ?94.4 million.Puma claims to have broken new ground in carbon reporting with the release of the environmental profit and loss accounts, which place the value of carbon emissions at ?66, far above the current market price.Alan McGill, partner, PwC sustainability and climate change, said: "While it's an emerging field for reporting, it's a significant first step that is likely to accelerate extremely quickly."It's about demonstrating that the business understands how wider factors such as ecosystem services could impact its ability to operate and continue to grow.?The Puma Group's brands include Puma, Cobra Golf and Tretorn and the company currently distributes its products to 120 countries worldwide. ??
